Simon joined CIPS in January 2008. He has 25 years’ experience
as a CEO of business representative bodies at local, regional and
national levels and is used to working at the interface of the public
and private sectors. He was CEO of London Chamber of Commerce and
Industry for ten years. Between 2001 and 2007, he merged six specialist
groups to form a single association for all the businesses that
underwrite risks in the world’s leading insurance market,
Lloyd’s of London. As a champion of vocational education Simon
has served on or chaired the governing bodies of schools, HE and
FE colleges, Training and Enterprise Councils, industry/education
partnerships, a business school and an international examinations
board.
